The first night baseball game under lights was played on May 24, 1935, at Crosley Field in Cincinnati, Ohio. The game was between the Cincinnati Reds and the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Reds won 2-1. The use of lights for night games was a groundbreaking development, as it allowed teams to play games later into the evening and attract more fans who were unavailable during the day.
